With an end to lockdown last Spring, the ever- popular North Coast saw plenty of new accommodation open as we flocked to some of our favourite staycation destinations.
There are so many tourist attractions in the area to explore- beautiful beaches, Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge, the NEW Magheracross Viewpoint, Game of Thrones filming locations, Bushmills Distillery and many more.
Here are some of the North Coast Newcomers that caught my eye last year, sure to be even more popular in 2022....
I'd been watching the progress of this renovation project during lockdown last year and it was fabulous to see The Old Bushmills Barn completed to such a high standard. This luxury accommodation is located in Bushmills not far from cafes, shops, restaurants with 4 ensuite bedrooms (sleeps 7), 2 lounges, kitchen, garden and balcony overlooking the garden. WIFI and private parking. A great base for exploring.
The perfect romantic retreat on the North Coast. The location is stunning- overlooking Portstewart Strand. At the Beach offers two studios with incredible sea views and beach access via the cliff path. The studios have their own living room, kitchenette and seperate entrance. Best of all, guests have access to a secluded patio area where you can enjoy the sunshine and watch the world go by... bliss.
Newly refurbished, elevated ground floor apartment with amazing ocean views from the front balcony. Two bedrooms sleeping up to 6 guests, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining and living space with those balcony views. Private parking. Located in Portrush town centre near the beach with all the bars, restaurants and shops on the doorstep.
Quirk, stylish duplex apartment just 3 minutes walk from Portstewart main street. Sleeps 4 with views of the sea, private parking and located in a gated complex which is great for families.
Beautifully renovated holiday home in the seaside village of Castlerock. Just 5 minutes walk to the beach, cafes and shops. Sleeps 7 in 2 double rooms and the cutest triple bunk room so great for families. Pet friendly.
On Maddybenny Farm, just a mile from Portrush's West Strand, this cosy little lodge is the perfect couples retreat. With kitchen, ensuite bathroom with shower/bath and sliding door to a private decked area with private south facing gardens. Dog friendly.
Winkle Cottage sleeps 4 across 2 bedrooms with amazing interiors, an outdoor terrace, private garden with log burner/fire pit and wood burning HOT TUB!! (Well, I couldn't possibly write one of my blogs without including somewhere with a hot tub- I know you all love these bubbly tubs of bliss). Pet friendly. 3 minutes drive to Whiterock Beach and Portrush.
I couldn't write this with including my most favourite new glamping accommodation because our Vincent is simply adorable. Vincent is a converted 52 seater bus with outdoor decking, HOT TUB, fire pit and patio heater. I was absolutely delighted when I found him... cuteness. Also with kitchen, dining and living area. Sleeps up to 6. The company is called Karen & Co and they also hire cute little camper vans too.
